"We stayed in this St. Thomas Virgin Islands apartment and had a wonderful week. The owner of the home met us at the airport and we followed him in our rental car. The apartment was clean, secluded, and safe. If you are going to spend your time exploring the islands of St. Thomas and St. John, this is an excellent place to use as a home base. We even loved the drive up the hill to get there. The view from the front porch was definitely worth it! Everything in the kitchenette worked fine and was a huge money saver as the restaurants on St. Thomas are expensive. There are grocery stores and a Kmart reasonable close to the apartment that did have good prices. There is nothing fancy about this place, but it is fully functional and we would stay there again. Another plus about this rental was the owners acceptance of Paypal for payment.Thank you so very much - we had a fabulous time. Your unit is great which met our expectations. We hope that you will have it available next year for our use. When we would certainly plan more then six days. All good things must come to at least a temporary end.”
Thanks again so much. Robin & Barb

AT YOUR OWN PRIVATE HIDEAWAY

Frenchtown

A trip to one of St. Thomas’ moYour St. Thomas visit can include this charming enclave called Frenchtown. It is located about a half-mile southwest of Charlotte Amalie, it is popular with tourists and locals for its restaurants and bars, one such restaurant is the Frenchtown Deli a quaint but cute place which is classic and artistic.

Frenchtown was settled by immigrants from the French Caribbean island of St. Barthelemy in the late 1800's through mid-1900's. Many of the men were fishermen and so the area became a fishing village and still is today. In the early morning you can watch fishermen coming in with their small fishing boats, or cleaning and selling their catches from the jetties and from the Quetel Fish Market. Many of the older French people still speak Creole, a French dialect. In the middle of Frenchtown is a hill crowned by St. Ann's Catholic Church. A small museum contains several hundred artifacts of historical interest related to the area and to the French community including photographs, pottery, tools and furniture. The French Heritage Museum is located next to the Joseph Aubain ballpark.

As I anticipated the accomodations were excellent. Glad I rented a jeep, but not necessary! Next year I plan on bringing the whole family!

My sons wedding was beautiful at Magen's Bay.I could not have asked for a better time in St Thomas.

I hope I can remember to drive on the right when I get back to Texas. See you next year.
